The 2016 Youth-Enabled Fish Farming AgriHack West Africa (YEFFA) continues with a week-long series of events.
The CTA sponsored ICT4Ag intervention is being staged simultaneously in four West African cities of Ibadan, Warri, Lome, and Cotonou and hosted at technology hubs of Wennovation Hub, PIND, Woelab, and EtriLabs respectively.
Following several months of concept notes submission and selection of semi-finalists, YEFFA ushered about 50 different teams into an engaging week stacked with bootcamp, immersion, and a 48-hour Hackathon.
The bootcamp aims at developing the capacity of participants on vital innovation topics relevant to the AgriHack challenge, equip them with essential know-hows which would help them develop high impact and sustainable solutions and also ignite agribusiness innovation and entrepreneurship instincts in them.
At the bootcamp, participants learnt important concepts of business education such as business model canvas development and a review of blue ocean strategy for creating uncontested market space. Over 100 young agropreneurs across West Africa are already benefitting from the Wennovation Hub led project and are expected to replicate lessons in their start-ups and various communities.
