In its daily report, the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reported that Nigeria has now recorded a total of 5162 confirmed COVID-19 cases after testing 30,657 samples. 1180 cases have been discharged and 167 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
On the 14th of May 2020, 193 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria. No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
The 193 new cases from 14th May are reported from 15 states- Lagos(58), Kano(46), Jigawa(35), Yobe(12), FCT(9), Ogun(7), Plateau(5), Gombe(5), Imo(4), Edo(3), Kwara(3), Borno(3), Bauchi (1), Nasarawa (1), Ondo(1)
In the Niger Delta, all States have recorded at least 1 case apart from Cross River. In fact, Cross River and Kogi are the only two states that are yet to register a case nationwide.
Here is the distribution of cases in the Niger Delta So far – Edo (92), Rivers (33), Delta (22), Ondo (19), Akwa Ibo (17), Imo (7), Bayelsa (6), and Abia (2).
