August 26, 2014The first edition of the Ijaw Youth Council World Summit, gathering over 1000 delegates, speakers and leaders is scheduled to hold at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Warri, Delta State from the 9th – 11th of September, 2014.Â
This event is a platform of engagement for the Government, Communities and Organizations with a purpose to empower and create a prosperous, stable and secured environment in the region, aimed at promoting sustainable growth, development, inclusivity and enhance integration.
The Ijaw Youth Council World Summit (IYCSummit2014) themed “Partnering for Prosperity and Sustainable Developmentâ€Â is bringing the Nigerian youths, leaders and stakeholders of the Niger Delta together to discuss topical issues aimed at harmonizing the position of the youths and communities at large, providing sustainable and secured tenancy and improving the lives of the people in the region.
The event will be declared open by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Dr. Goodluck Jonathan (GCFR) on the 9th September along with Ministers of Niger Delta Affairs – Dr. Steve Oru, Minister for Youth Development – Alhaji Boni Haruna, Minister for Sports – Dr. Tamuno Danagogo, Minister for Petroleum Resources – Dr (Mrs) Diezani Allison-Madueke, Minister for Women Affairs and Social Development – Hajia Zainab Maina, SA to the President on Niger Delta Affairs – Hon Kingsley Kuku and SSA to the President on MDG – Dr. (Mrs) Precious Gbeneol.
