May 21, 2015On June 20, 2015 (10am-3pm), the Center For Social Awareness, Advocacy and Ethics Incorporated (CSAAE Inc.), will host its 2nd International Opportunity Fair at the Akin Deko Main Auditorium, University of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria. The CSAAE Team was invited to the University by beneficiaries of the Center’s Emerging Nigerian Leaders project who are also students of the University of Benin.
In a statement issued by the Founder and President of the Center, the Reverend Godswill Agbagwa, the campus based international opportunity fair is part of the Center’s efforts to revive the Nigerian social and moral sense, re-awaken the Nigerian spirit of entrepreneurship, and nurture morally responsible leaders for positive change. The Center is embarking on this capital intensive project because it believes that underdevelopment in Nigeria is largely due to failure of leadership at all levels as well as decline in the Nigerian spirit of entrepreneurship, social and moral sense.
According to Rev. Agbagwa, a U.S. based Nigerian Catholic Priest, the aim of the opportunity fair is to help students build the capacities, competencies and character to achieve sterling successes and bring positive changes to the nation. The fair brings together professionals from across the globe to teach youths how to become successful entrepreneurs; how to save and grow money; how to get dream jobs; how to get involved in civic activities; how to take advantage of the social media; how to fight for their rights as citizens; how to be ethical in various occupations; how to resolve conflicts through dialogue and other peaceful means; how to secure educational opportunities home and abroad as well as how to become ethical and inspirational leaders, etc.
The Center’s maiden opportunity fair was held at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri in November 2014 with about 500 students in attendance. According to the organizers of the upcoming fair on ground at UNIBEN, over 500 students are expected to participate.
Rev. Agbagwa also announced that at the upcoming UNIBEN opportunity fair, the Center will launch it’s nationwide campus based Read and Win, Write and Win as well as Watch and Win contests as further efforts towards eviving the Nigerian social and moral sense, e-awakening the Nigerian spirit of entrepreneurship, and nurturing morally responsible leaders for positive change. Through directed reading, writing and educative film watching contests, participants gain the inspiration to achieve sterling successes, fight corruption and bring positive changes to Nigeria. Winners will receive handsome cash rewards towards their education. Side attractions include raffle draw featuring tablets, android phones, fans, refrigerators, etc. There will also be refreshments and musical entertainment by renowned dance troupe.
