Girls Learn The Biology of Menstruation at the ATED Centre

August 15, 2017Menstrual Hygiene Day is a day set aside globally to promote menstrual hygiene for girls and women.
To promote effective Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programmes and mainstream gender, the ATED centre collaborated with Women in Chemistry, the women chapter of Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) for the annual Menstrual Hygiene Day event. This program was held at the Appropriate Technology Enabled Development (ATED) Centre in Warri, Delta State on May 30, 2017.
A paper was presented by Dr. Doris F. Ogeleka titled ‘Chemistry in Menstrual Hygiene’. Dr. Doris explained the Chemical components of sanitary hygiene products – like pads, tampons, tissue paper, wool etc – and how they affect the human body.
