PIND has been successful at implementing economic development and peacebuilding programs in the nine Niger Delta States since 2010. In the current strategic cycle, PIND plans to reach 10,000 people in the coastal communities with economic opportunities for increased income, jobs and business development, and access to clean energy. Also, it plans to strengthen peacebuilding and conflict management interventions in these communities while mainstreaming conflict sensitivity across PIND’s projects. This would enable the active engagement of peace actors in conflict mitigation and reduction in the region.
