January 23, 2024The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) has launched its Youth Employment Pathways (YEP) Program in Ondo State. The Youth Employment Pathways (YEP) Program in Ondo State will be implemented in Agriculture, ICT, Fashion, Catering, Aluminum fabrication, Solar installation, and Inverter maintenance in three LGA’s, including Akure, Ile-Oluji, and Owo of Ondo State. The launching is a significant milestone for stakeholders in Ondo as this will be the first time the YEP Program will be implemented in the state.
The program commenced with an orientation and training session for Ondo State youth employment partners on January 17, 2024. This was an opportunity for these stakeholders to better understand the scale of the project and make necessary inquiries to ensure an impactful implementation of the project.
In an address to the partners, PIND Program Director, Dr. Essien Effiong, expressed gratitude to the state government for welcoming PIND and looked forward to recording more successes as the project would be implemented in Ondo State.
Also present was a representative of the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerment, Toikumo Owei, who commended PIND’s efforts and smooth partnership thus far in preparing for the launch.
Stakeholders in Ondo State look forward to the replication of the impact the YEP program has had in other states and are optimistic about the project’s contribution to youth employment and sustainable development in the state.
