NNPC Announces Discovery of New Oil Well in Niger Delta
February 10, 2026The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has handed out 900 laptops to university students in the Niger Delta, providing a key resource to enhance learning, research, and digital competency.
The recipients include students from the Nigeria Maritime University, the Admiralty University of Nigeria, Dennis Osadebey University, the Southern Delta University, and the University of Delta. The laptops form part of PAP’s ongoing scholarship support initiative and represent the third batch distributed under the programme.
The initiative aims to equip students with the digital tools needed to remain competitive in academics and future careers. Access to laptops enables students to conduct research, participate in online learning, and develop technical skills that are critical in a rapidly digitising world.
Digital literacy is widely recognised as a foundation for academic success and employability. Countries such as Singapore and Finland have prioritised student access to technology, achieving significant gains in educational outcomes and workforce readiness. By providing laptops, PAP is helping Niger Delta students acquire essential skills to thrive in higher education and the modern economy.
