Linking Partners for Niger Delta Development

The Mastercard Foundation is inviting young Africans to apply for its 2026 Graduate Internship Program, an initiative designed to prepare recent graduates for the world of work while advancing the Foundation’s mission of enabling 30 million young people to access dignified employment by 2030.

Set to begin on 15 January 2026, the 11-month, non-renewable program offers participants the opportunity to gain professional experience across the Foundation’s key functions, including Programs, Finance, People & Culture, Impact & Learning, Technology, Legal & Compliance, and Public Affairs.

Who Can Apply
The program is open to graduates who:

● Hold a bachelor’s degree (0–4 years post-graduation).
● Are eligible to work in one of the Foundation’s offices in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, or Uganda.
● Demonstrate a passion for youth development, social impact, and inclusive growth in Africa.
● Show evidence of community engagement and extracurricular leadership.

Interns are expected to commit full-time, with no other concurrent employment.
Why It Matters
Youth unemployment remains one of Africa’s most pressing development challenges. By combining hands-on work assignments with mentorship, career development resources, and exposure to the Foundation’s operations, the Graduate Internship Program equips young professionals with the tools to succeed—whether in employment or entrepreneurship.
The initiative underscores the Foundation’s belief that investing in young people is critical for building resilient, innovative, and inclusive economies across the continent.
