The Ondo State government has said it lost $1.2 million due to data falsification by some of its officials.
It said that aside the loss of the huge amount, the reputation of the state was battered.
The Health Commissioner, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro said this at a one-day training for Medical Record Officers of Secondary Health facilities in Akure. Adegbenro, who said the loss of money was worrisome to government, said: “government would no longer allow such slip in future, hence the need to train staff on data gathering.”
“The training is very important to the state as it has just come out of a data falsification saga which had cost the state $1.2 million and a battered reputation”, he said.
