All is now set for Startup Port Harcourt Week 2019, scheduled for October 20th – 26th, at the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park.
The theme for this year is From Oil to Tech – Preparing for the Future.
Events include Hackathon, Demo Day, She in Tech, Gamers Party, Investors Dinner, Startup Kids, Startup Port Harcourt Town Hall Meeting, The Coffee House, FitFam, etc.
Speaking on the conference, the convener Startup Port Harcourt Week, Mr. Bereni D. Fiberesima, noted that creative and digital sectors have remained untapped despite the push the diversify the economy.
“Studies show that a 10% increase in broadband penetration in developing economies could result in an increase of 1.3% in the nation’s GDP.” He said.

The conference will be preceded by an Innovation Tour from October 14th – 18th, where a team of journalists, blogger etc will visit and give publicity to hubs, creative community spaces, and startup-friendly coffee shops and restaurants.
The aim is to bring to the limelight, spaces that add value to the city’s digital and creative economy.
This edition will be the 4th since it debuted in 2016.
