October 22, 2015Keeping It Real (KIR) Foundation has a vision to raise innovative leaders committed to lifelong learning and community service.
The Foundation was founded in 2010 and run programs on Education, Capacity Building and Advocacy, with the primary objective of inspiring change through learning. This is evident in the lives of orphans and vulnerable children, youths, persons living with disabilities, prisoners, and women the organisation has been able to touch. The Foundation has impacted the lives of over 10,500 youths through projects/initiatives on Leadership, Career Guidance and Counselling/Values Education, Vocational skills, ICT and Entrepreneurship/Financial Literacy, book drive and after school academic programs.
“In the past four years, we have collaborated with our board of directors, donors, and volunteers to achieve our mission and we relentlessly look out for opportunities to promote the quality of education in our public schools and ways to build the capacity of young people by executing projects that focus on life skills and employability. Furthermore we continuously advocate for the rights of all our beneficiaries (orphans and vulnerable children, youth, persons with disabilities, prisoners, women and our local communities)â€, says Bitebo Gogo, the Executive Director of the Foundation.
KIR was part of the recent Akvo RSR training organised by NDLink in September.
“Like Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND), KIR Foundation seeks to achieve a legacy of sustainable peace and development among communities in the Niger Delta.†– Gogo.
The organisation is also seeking for partnerships and support to effectively achieve their aims and objectives.
“To effectively serve our target beneficiaries, execute and scale up our projects and expand our area of service, we look for grants from and seek partnerships with corporate organizations and individuals with mutual interests.â€
