“We are becoming increasingly aware that solutions to our global challenges must purposefully engage youth, at all levels – locally, regionally, nationally and globally. This generation has the passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit to shape the future.”

Professor Klaus Schwab
World Economic Forum Founder and Executive Chairman

The Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum (WEF) is a network of Hubs developed and led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievement and their drive to make contribution to their communities. Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society.  Through the Global Shapers Community, Shapers are provided with opportunities to connect with the worldwide network of Global Shapers, to network with other World Economic Forum communities, and to represent the voice of youth at World Economic Forum events. Shapers are united by a common desire to channel the members’ tremendous energy and enthusiasm into building a more peaceful and inclusive world.

The Global Shapers Community provides youth with a global platform to shape the future, integrating the personal, community and global dimension. The community catalyses and enhances, individually and collectively, fresh ideas and entrepreneurial solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges and also provides the shapers with the opportunity to get involved in cross mentoring with the communities of the World Economic Forum.

Joining the Global Shapers Community begins by joining a local Hub. Local Hubs are committed to local impact and are designed to be local in focus, activity and governance. Local Hubs interact and collaborate across borders on global or regional projects, to gain insight and impact the global dimension. Hubs also provides Shapers with the opportunity to actively develop and contribute to initiatives which focus on future-oriented challenges that this community is uniquely positioned to address.

The Port Harcourt Global Shapers Hub is one of the newest Hubs on the Global Platform, and one of 6 in Nigeria. Other Hubs in Nigeria include; Lagos, Abuja, Calabar, Kano, and Ibadan. The Port Harcourt Hub’s Founding-Curator is Mrs. Bitebo Gogo. Mrs. Gogo is also the founder and Executive Director of Keeping It Real Foundation (KIR), and she’s hopeful that the Port Harcourt Hub will do its part to shape Port Harcourt for the better.

The Hub has, through its social media channels, requested for applications from exceptional youths with Leadership Potential in Port Harcourt aged 20-30 years old to apply for membership in the Hub. Application forms can be found here. In addition to filling out the form, candidates are also required to submit a CV and send to
