Stop Open Defecation!
August 15, 2017Mainstreaming Peace Building In WASH
August 15, 2017Our Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) team, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and the United Nations children’s fund (UNICEF) visited Osun, Ogun, Kaduna and Akwa Ibom State as part of a monitoring team carrying out a national research on clay and Biosand filter efficiency and adoption.
Of note is the visit to the Atamora Village Pottery Centre in Osun state to see how the clay filters are constructed.
These filters are efficient in removing up to 95% of dirt and cloudiness in water and between 70-99% of viruses, making it an appropriate technology for filtering water in the Niger Delta. This is why PIND has adopted the technology as one of our appropriate technologies for the region.
