The U.S. Consulate General Lagos, Public Affairs Section (PAS) announces a Request for Statements of Interest (RSOI) from organizations interested in applying for funding to implement a youth-oriented program focused on the South-South region of Nigeria. Organizations should submit a proposal detailing how they would organize a program involving youth or youth leaders in the region. Overall, the intent must be to promote peace and reconciliation by involving youth in capacity-building training that they can then share with other youth in their communities. Examples of activities could include entrepreneurship training, vocational skills, farming techniques, and radio journalism.
The goal of the program is to provide youth with these skills to promote stability and economic development in their communities. Applicants should be sure to indicate how they would implement their programs given the restrictions in place due to the ongoing pandemic. The deadline for the receipt of applications for funding is July 30, 2020. All applications will be reviewed by the Consulate Grants Committee. Final determinations will be issued by August 30, 2020.
