The Mastercard Foundation is intensifying the implementation of its Young Africa Works strategy, aiming to empower 30 million young people across the continent with dignified and fulfilling employment. Mastercard Foundation  have established offices in Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Uganda to provide strong in-country support.

The Opportunity:

Role:Head, Climate Action, Pan African Programs
Location: Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ghana, or Senegal
Reporting To: Director, Agriculture Pan African Programs

Key Responsibilities:
– Drive the implementation of the Climate Action framework across all Foundation programming platforms.
– Develop new regional and Pan-African partnerships to create additional impact opportunities.
– Partner with Country Heads to support the implementation of Climate Action programs.
– Collect and collate learnings from Climate Action program implementations to inform future development.
– Provide technical expertise and support to country and regional teams.
– Represent the Foundation at key conferences, workshops, and media events, building relationships with senior figures across sectors.
– Lead and develop the Agrifoods & Climate Action thematic team.
– Collaborate across functions and countries to deliver Climate Action related work.
