December 15, 2025In a bid to accelerate sustainable growth and create new economic opportunities, the Niger Delta is set to host the Blue Economy Investment Summit from February 9 to 11, 2026, at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State. The summit will convene global and regional experts, policymakers, investors, and community leaders to advance a five-year roadmap for the region’s blue economy, with a target of mobilizing $10 billion.
The three-day event will feature keynote addresses from former Tunisian Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa, Paul Holthus, and other international thought leaders, as well as panels on maritime investment, coastal innovation, and sustainable development. Participants will also engage in discussions on leveraging the Niger Delta’s untapped marine and tourism resources to drive inclusive growth and resilient livelihoods.
A key highlight of the summit will be the launch of the Niger Delta Blue Economy Investment Fund, which aims to foster private-sector partnerships, promote environmental restoration, and create jobs in coastal communities.
