Primary Purpose: The National Short Term Expert will fill the role in an anticipated 3 years agricultural project funded by a donor, focusing on agriculture. The successful candidate will ensure that trainings for trainers is effectively carried out as a resource person. This will also function as an advisory position. The tasks outlined below are the key responsibilities, but the candidate is expected to perform any tasks that are necessary within the context of the evolving needs of the project.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- SME Loop coaching
- Ensure good agricultural practice (GAP) and other trainings are in place.
- ICT dissemination on production, markets, inputs, technology, etc.
- Support trainings for innovative business models and production methods.
- Development of materials and support in the area of product quality, certification and
registration (including ETLS) - Participate in branding and campaigns
- Any other tasks that may be assigned.
Required Technical Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in agronomy/agriculture, engineering, economics, social sciences or another relevant area of study.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication, analytical and strategy skills
- 5 years of professional experience in Value Chains support.
- 5 years of experience in coaching (SME Loop and or related approaches)
- 5 years of experience in specialized areas (standards, GAP, production, ICT dissemination, market development, branding/campaigns)
