February 19, 2024ActionAid Nigeria is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the following positions within the organization:
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer – Abuja
The post holder will provide technical support and guidance in meeting the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) requirements of the Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA II) Nigeria Project at all levels. S/he will also provide leadership, guidance, and support to implementing partners on all M&E components of the SPA II project; as well as develop strategy & expertise on the summary results framework, key milestones, and monitoring & evaluation plan for the project.
The MEL Officer with support from the SPA II Project Advisor and ActionAid Nigeria’s Impact Assessment and Shared Learning Manager, will work to ensure that the project team works in compliance with the project’s M&E frameworks and systems.
Person Specifications
Education/Qualifications
- First degree in social Sciences or Arts/Humanities is essential.
- Experience working with youths, youth groups, and organizations is desirable.
Experience
- At least three (3) years experience in monitoring and evaluation with particular emphasis on governance/youth-related Programmes in the development sector is essential.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative monitoring & evaluation skills and familiarity with the range of approaches and methods currently being deployed in the development sector with the focus on youth program M&Eis essential.
- Experience in the use of various M and E tools and statistical software programs such as KoboKollect, POWERBI, SPSS, STATA, and NVIVO is essential.
- Experience in community-based work and use of various participatory M&E tools evaluation is essential.
- Experience in project management is essential.
Skill/Abilities
- Excellent working knowledge of Data information systems as well as Excel, Word & Outlook (MS Office in general).
- Extensive knowledge of reporting procedures, best practices, guidelines, and tools for monitoring, evaluation, and learning, including impact evaluation
- Experience working with International development organizations.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Experience in facilitating training/meetings.
- Excellent skills in Programme Information Management.
- Excellent planning and prioritization skills
