Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari has reinforced military operations in the Niger Delta so as to wage a decisive war against pipelines vandals and sundry criminal activities in the region.

The government according to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu is determined to stop the sabotage of oil facilities and kidnapping of citizens for ransom in the Niger Delta region at all cost. He said his administration had put in place measures to ensure rights of the citizens were not infringed upon in the fight against terrorism and corruption.

“We attach great importance to human rights. If there are breaches, they will be investigated and dealt with,” he said.

Buhari, therefore, commended the USA, Europe and other countries for the growing international support for Nigeria in her efforts to end the Boko Haram insurgency and terrorism
